Fuel Additive Science Technologies Limited (FAST) was formed in 2005 by Dr Bob Hall and SallyAnn Bell. Neil Ryding joined as the third director in 2010. The three directors have a combined technical background in fuel science, fuel additives technology, testing and evaluation and chemicals manufacture and previously worked for European and American blue-chip organisations in similar fields.
The Company operates from a facility at the Atcham Business Park on the outskirts of Shrewsbury and this facility was expanded early in 2011 to provide additional production, storage and office space. The expansion reflects the dramatic growth of the Company since its inception.
Initially FAST�s objective was to provide bespoke, technically superior fuel additives for the automotive industry but customer demand caused the Company to change its focus towards the domestic heating and range cooking (AGA) markets, with the result that it is now the primary producer of additives for the UK�s domestic kerosene supply.
To this end, FAST now has a relationship with the majority of the independent fuel distributors in the UK and Ireland both as a supplier of fuel additives and as a technical resource, routinely providing advice and consultancy on fuel quality issues.
In spite of the Company�s involvement with kerosene, the automotive and marine products have not been left to stagnate and the changes to the UK�s gas oil specifications that came into effect at the start of 2011 have resulted in a significant increase in demand for both additives and advice. Representatives of the Company have provided written and verbal presentations to farmers� groups, vehicle manufacturers, boat owners and technical service personnel. This remains an ongoing process. Additionally, we formulate and supply upgrade additives for diesel and gasoline (premium forecourt standard) and specialist additives for classic vehicles.
FAST achieved ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System accreditation in February 2011 and this reflects the Company�s commitment to customer service and continuing growth. It is FAST�s intention to maintain its pre-eminent position as a formulator and supplier of speciality, bespoke and high service level fuel additives.
